During the third quarter of 2024, the top social apps on the unified platform in New Zealand showcased varied performance trends in downloads, revenue, and active users, as reported by Sensor Tower.

Facebook from Meta Platforms, Inc. saw a steady increase in weekly revenue, reaching approximately $8.6K by mid-September. Downloads were relatively stable, with a slight decline from early July at 10.4K to about 9.5K by the end of September. Active users remained robust, hovering around 3.3M throughout the quarter.

TikTok by TikTok Pte. Ltd. experienced a peak in weekly revenue at $98K in late August, while downloads fluctuated, peaking mid-August at 13.6K before declining to 10K by the quarter's end. The app maintained over 1M active users, despite a gradual decline over the period.

Instagram showed notable growth in weekly revenue, hitting $10.1K in late August. Downloads remained relatively consistent, averaging around 9K to 10K weekly. Active users fluctuated slightly, peaking at approximately 1.7M in late September.

Threads, also from Instagram, did not generate revenue but saw a significant increase in downloads, reaching 18.3K in late August. Active users grew steadily, ending the quarter at around 200K.

Reddit experienced a sharp rise in weekly revenue, peaking at $206 in late September. Downloads, however, showed a downward trend, decreasing from 4.9K in July to 3.6K by September's end. Active users remained stable, averaging around 220K.
